Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to a few commonly asked questions about our work.  If your question is not answered here please contact us using the details at the bottom of the page

Q - Do I have to know a lot about gardening to join Maghull in Bloom?

A - No. We have volunteers who knew very little when they joined but say they have learned a lot since and we also have people who are very knowledgeable.

Q – Do I have to pay to join?

A – No. There are no fees or subscriptions

Q – Do I have to commit to a certain number of hours per week?

A – We do not expect people to turn up to every session although you are very welcome to do so. Volunteers come and help when they can but many do come regularly as they enjoy the social side of volunteering.

Q – Do I have to provide my own tools and if so what do I need?

A – You will need some basic tools. A pair of gardening gloves and, depending on the session, a hand fork or trowel.

Q – Can I choose the session I work in?

A – Yes, you can choose the session but we must be aware of the current need for social distancing when we are working on sites such as Central Square and the Leisure Centre.

Q – How do I join?

A -  Email or telephone us and let us know which session you would like to come along to and someone will be there to welcome you and show you what to do.
